“Steps” is a painting of ascent—each brushstroke pulling the eye upward, as though inviting the neshoma to climb higher and higher. The stairway, awash in shifting tones of blue, white, and gold, seems endless, dissolving into light. It is a path without end, a reminder that in avodas Hashem, there is always another level waiting for us.
The motion in the painting reflects both effort and serenity: each step requiring strength, yet each one lit with heavenly glow. The stairs are not rigid or confined—they shimmer, almost fluid, symbolizing how every person’s journey is unique, yet all rise toward the same source.
As I painted “Steps,” I felt a sense of inner movement, as though I, too, was being carried upward with each layer of paint. It became not just an image, but an experience of growth—a visual tefillah of yearning to come closer, to rise above the physical, and to reach the embrace of Hashem.
This painting is an eternal reminder: the path may be long, but every step matters. Every effort, every moment of reaching upward, draws us closer to the Infinite Light.
